News broke Thursday that John Force Racing president and longtime Funny Car pilot Robert Hight would be stepping away from the company.
Hight was out of the car all of the 2024 NHRA season. He served only as president of the team last year.
As this news travels through the racing world, here is a look back at some of Hight’s greatest achievements. Overall, he had 65 career wins and made it to 102 final rounds.
Starting his competitive career in 2005, Robert took the drag racing world by storm. He ended the year with two wins and a Rookie of the Year trophy. As the years progressed, Hight won consistently, maintained multiple No. 1 qualifiers year in and year out, and remained in the top ten overall for several years.
His first of three Funny Car Championships would come in 2009. The other two to follow in 2017 and 2019. Hight would become the president of John Force Racing in 2011.
Hight’s success and contributions to John Force Racing and the motorsport industry will always be an enormous part of motorsports history.
